JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Raises $650,000
October 13, 2005
Denver, CO, - On Sunday, September 11th, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Rocky Mountain Chapter held their annual Walk to Cure Diabetes, raising approximately $650,000 for research to cure diabetes. This year there were over 100 new teams participating, with a total of 4,000 walkers, up from 3,200 last year. The Walk to Cure Diabetes has been a major fundraiser for diabetes research for more than ten years in Denver.
"We appreciate the generosity of our community and their associated families, companies and media organizations who have contributed to our search for the cure for diabetes," stated Jim Kennel, JDRF board member and president of DMX-direct. "As heralded in the press, JDRF funded research is making very significant advances toward the day where diabetes might be a footnote in medical history rather than the scourge it is today. I would also like to individually thank Cindy Ellingboe, our DMX Walk Team Captain, and our DMX associates and friends who contributed towards this cause."
