Denver, CO – October 12, 2005 - Direct Marketing Excellence, Inc., dba DMX-direct, is pleased to announce that, in partnership with New Global Telecom, Inc, (NGT) and the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), they have begun distribution of Virtual Voice Mailbox cards to victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.

NGT Coordinates VoIP Solution for Katrina Relief

NGT has been busy behind-the-scenes working on a "Virtual Voice Mailbox" product offering that will take advantage of VoIP's mobility, functionality, and ease of deployment – features that are particularly valuable in emergency situations where communication is crucial to those who most need services: victims and support organizations. NGT is developing the free voice mailbox phone card solution for ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) who will distribute the cards to evacuees in Baton Rouge & Lake Charles, Louisiana and in Houston, Texas.
The card provides evacuees with a consistent voice-mail number for use connecting with family, friends, FEMA and other support organizations, as well as for handling insurance claims and job hunting. Initial test deployments of 600 Virtual Voice Mailbox cards will be sent to ACORN in the coming week, with plans to deploy a total of 6,200 Virtual Voice Mailbox cards.
This project has been a team effort with contributions from Level3 (local telephone origination services), BroadSoft (licenses) and DMX-direct, Inc. (printing). For more information, please contact solutions@ngt.com.
